The hungry remains in hunger October 17, 2008Posted by pilibustero in Politics & Society.
a reaction to Joe Torres’ ‘the hunger we face’ article @ gmanews.tv blogs and the world food day.
Its all about the culture (media, etc) and system (govt, economic & education, etc) of government. Tough times call for tough solutions. Amid the crisis, where government is posturing as if all is fine, radical steps are imperative. This is also the time when we asked ‘why they are poor’? Most of the time, we try to answer them by giving them food, and not addressing the conditions that beset them. World Food Day is just a day or a week in a year of remembrance and reminder, but every minute in many parts of the world, a human being is deprived of his right to survival, sans the food.
“when I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. but when I asked why they are poor, they call me a communist”
