The cool breeze of December, of climate Change December 8, 2008Posted by pilibustero in Personal.
It’s been a week now since the sustained downpour of shower [to rain, to thunderstorm] started. While the downpour has stopped for at least two days now, the cold weather persists all over. Over the news, I learned of inundiation and flash floods in formerly non-flooded areas. Worst, PAG-ASA has no word of any depression except for some cold fronts east and west. But as far as my knowledge on meteorology permits, the occurence of cold fronts comes on yearly basis, but how come this persists only now, at least in my five years stay here in LB. Somehow, I was just making sense of the effects of climate change or something to that effect. Again, scenario-building. Friends would dismiss, saying that its December and that they didn’t feel any strange with the weather. I’m remain anxious. I have the feeling that indeed, this is a prelude to some future phenomena, if not destruction. In the meantime, it’s so good to enjoy the coolness of christmas, especially if everything else is cold.
